Make it stand out.
The beauty and curse of ambitious projects is that there isn’t always a ‘right’ way to do them. In many cases, we have to act as trailblazers, inventing the path we walk on as we pursue our vision. That is why it is crucial to have members on your team who are capable of taking orders, while also being leaders in their own right.
Having worked on one of Dubai’s most ambitious projects, Expo 2020 Dubai, I have learned to not only be a creative craftsman, but also a creative strategist, often creating my own briefs in alignment with the vision of my leadership.
During Expo 2020 Dubai’s 182 days of celebration, I was part of the team that helped to create the Creative Vision, defining the creative spirit that would come characterize the massive site over the course of the event. I also worked as the gatekeeper for many forms of content, ensuring that the performances lived up to the spirit of the venues they inhabited and maintained the core values of Expo 2020 Dubai.
